Carmelo Lazatin, Jr., more commonly referred to as "Pogi", is the son of Pampanga First District Representative Carmelo "Tarzan" Lazatin. He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the Angeles University Foundation in 1990 and with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from Republic Central Colleges in 2009. He also has a Master's Degree in Business Administration. Despite this being the first time that Lazatin is going to participate in city-wide elections, Lazatin is not new to public service. In 1985, Lazatin served as a councilor in the Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay San Jose, Angeles City. Lazatin served as a consultant for the Office of the Mayor in Angeles City, Pampanga from 1998 to 2000.
At present, Lazatin serves as Founding Director of the Bahay Bata Foundation.
